EXAM CHANGES IN 2018

From September 2018, the new ACCA Qualification was launched which means that exam names, codes and levels changed. Knowledge level became Applied Knowledge, Skills level became Applied Skills and Professional level became Strategic Professional.

ACCA Qualification Journey

When you study ACCA, you can achieve the following qualifications;

ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business

You gain the ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business  when you pass:

  • the Applied Knowledge exams of the ACCA Qualification
  • the Foundations in Professionalism ethics module.

Depending on when you take your ethics module, you could get this award in 6-12 months.

Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business

You gain the Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business when you pass:

  • all the Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills exams of the ACCA Qualification
  • the Ethics and Professional Skills module.

Depending on when you take your exams and ethics module, you could get this award in 12-18 months.

You can also combine the ACCA Qualification with getting a degree:

BSc (Hons) degree in Applied Accounting

Get a degree at the same time as becoming a qualified accountant through our partnership with Oxford Brookes University. This is the perfect way to gain an extra qualification without doubling your workload.

You need to:

  • pass your ACCA Qualification exams
  • pass the Ethics and Professional Skills module
  • submit a research and analysis project.

Foundation-level awards

Our Foundation-level awards are made up of certificates and diplomas that you can obtain as you progress through the exams. Here are the exams you will need to take and the awards you can achieve on the way.

ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting

The ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting is awarded on the completion of exams Recording Financial Transactions (FA1) and Management Information (MA1), and also Foundations in Professionalism.

The ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting is suitable for those aspiring to work or already working in:

  • a junior accounts clerk/junior bookkeeper role in an SME
  • a range of junior accounting administration roles within an accounting department of a larger organisation or financial shared service centre.

The ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting is broadly equivalent to GCSE level.

ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting

The ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting is awarded on the completion of exams Maintaining Financial Records (FA2) and Managing Costs and Finance (MA2), and also Foundations in Professionalism.

The ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting    is suitable for those aspiring to work or already working in:

  • Accounting administration roles in small, medium or large enterprises in private practice, the corporate or public sectors.
  • Various roles in financial or cost and management accounting within an accounting department of a larger organisation or in financial shared services or Global Business Services (GBS) centres.

The ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting is broadly equivalent to ‘A’ level.

ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business

The ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business  is awarded on the completion of the exams Accountant in Business (FAB), Financial Accounting (FFA), Management Accounting (FMA) and Foundations in Professionalism.

The ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business  is suitable for those aspiring to work or already working in the following types of roles:

  • basic bookkeeping
  • trainee accountant in a commercial organisation or accounting practice
  • accounts clerk in public sector.

The ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business  is broadly equivalent to HND level/ the first year of a degree.

Additional requirements

Foundations in professionalism

The module has been designed to help you understand what it means to act professionally and ethically at work. Once you complete the module you will receive certificates for all the awards you complete.

So if you study for any of our Foundation-level qualifications and want a certificate as proof of the exams you have completed, you are required to complete Foundations in Professionalism. This is an online, interactive module, designed to help you develop your understanding of what it means to act professionally and ethically in the work you carry out.

You can complete Foundations in Professionalism before or after completing the exam component of the qualification you are aiming to achieve and you only need to successfully complete the module once, even if you decide to complete one or more of our qualifications.

Exam Sessions 2019

We prepare students for the four (4) exam sessions in a year namely:

  1. March 2019
  2. June 2019
  3. September 2019
  4. December 2019
