Admissions at Murang’a University of Technology

Murang’a University of Technology (MUT) aims at admitting applicants who are best prepared to benefit from and contribute to MUT’s community. MUT Admission Department will review your application and supporting documentation carefully to assess your overall academic qualification and suitability for admission. In evaluating your application, the University will consider Mean Grade scores achieved in High School, grades earned in core subjects depending on the specific programmes in which you are interested and any additional information you provided in support of your application.
Before you apply for admission at MUT, you are encouraged to carefully consider the various degree and diploma programmes available. Whether you are interested in graduate, undergraduate, diploma or certificate programmes, you will find that MUT has a variety of programmes to choose from in fulfilling your educational and career goals.
MUT has diversified academic programmes and specializations in Engineering, Applied Sciences and Humanities. Through self-sponsored programmes, invaluable opportunity has been opened to Kenyans and non-Kenyans, who meet the University admission requirements.
All application forms can be obtained from the Registrar, Murang’a University of Technology upon payment of a non‐refundable fee of K.Shs. 500/= for Craft courses, K.Shs. 1000/= for Diploma courses and K.Shs. 1,500 for Degree courses.  Payments should be made either in Cash or Bankers Cheque in favour of Murang’a University of Technology. You can also download application form (Undergraduate Application form) and post to the university and include money order of the application fee.

Banking Details and Tuition Fees

Tuition fees are approved by the University Council. The fees are set per academic year depending on the course and subjects. Residence fees outside campus residence range between Kshs 5,000 and 8,000 per semester. Travel expenses, meals, stationery and text books are not included in the above costs. Tuition fees may be deposited directly into the University account.
