Chuka University Freshers, We have been informed about the fraudsters. They have already conned a number but I am asking the parents and students to pay for rooms only once they are given access and receipt,” Njeru said.
Njeru said they were working with the police to have the suspects arrested.
Robert Saitoti, the students’ union secretary-general, asked the affected students to volunteer information to aid in the investigations.
“I call upon those who have been conned to report to us so that we can follow up with the police to ensure that no student is robbed of their money,” Saitoti said.
Registration of 2,500 first year students kicked off today morning and will end tomorrow.
The continuing students start reporting back from September 7.
