Pwani University Updates, Even before the dust is yet to settle on the callous murder of Ivy Wangeci, a sixth-year medical student in Moi University who was axed to death, Pwani University student was on Sunday allegedly stabbed several times and left fighting for her life at Kilifi County Hospital.
Naomi Chepkemboi, said to be a Public health student, was stabbed ostensibly by her ex-lover, who according to his colleague traveled all the way from Nairobi to execute the heinous act.
In a post shared on The Pwani University We Want Facebook page, Fikirini Jacob, who identified himself as the chairman of Pwani University Students Association (PUSA) said: “My attention was drawn to this heinous and barbaric act of murder attempt done on Naomi Chepkemboi by a young man from Nairobi alleged to have been in a relationship with her before”.
The assailant, who identified by a local publication as Hillary Kipkoech is said to be a Kenyatta University student, arrived at Naomi’s house in the morning carrying a bag which after the incident was discovered to be containing three knives.
According to Nation, Hillary is said to have traveled all the way to demand answers as to why Naomi returning Ksh 3200 he had sent her.
On arrival, reports say he locked the room and begun attacking the girl. After she raised an alarm, she was rescued as the alleged ex-lover was arrested and taken to Kilifi police station.
“I am aware that the perpetrator of this obnoxious act is in the police cells and will be presented for charges in Court tomorrow.
As we tirelessly struggle to see the best of the Doctors efforts save her. I request that we pray for our sister”, added Fikirini in his Facebook post.
