Unicaf University operates campuses and learning centres throughout Africa, and is currently present in 11 countries, (Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, Nigeria, Somalia, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Rwanda and Zambia), with plans for further expansion. State-of-the-art campuses operate in Zambia and Malawi and are opening soon in Zimbabwe, Rwanda and Uganda.

It was founded to offer gifted, underprivileged students the opportunity to further their education, by studying for internationally recognized qualifications at a much lower cost. The programme supports students in Africa and provides opportunities for studies towards online degree programmes awarded by European and British universities. Currently UNICAF provides scholarships for the online degree programmes offered by the University of South Wales in the UK, as well as online and blended learning degree programmes of Unicaf University.
